PHD Connect- Call for Applications 2024

Application deadline: This is ongoing until funds are depleted.

The PhD Connect funding line taps resources from the Excellence Strategy to support virtual and hybrid colloquiums for doctoral researchers at Universität Hamburg jointly with strategic partner universities as well as research stays of one to three months at Universität Hamburg for up to 2 doctoral researchers from these partner institutions.

As a rule up to €10,000 is granted per project.

Objective: To promote the networking of doctoral students and early career researchers and the expansion of sustainable research contacts with partner universities.

The Deutsch-Französische Hochschule (DFH) supports networking and the intensification of Franco-German scientific dialogue. It funds events for young researchers lasting from 2 days to a maximum of 4 weeks.

There are currently three calls for proposals:

General call for proposals: (Only in German)

Call for proposals "European integration: new impulses for the 'Europe-factory' (Only in German)

Call for proposals "Artificial intelligence and its challenges for our society“ (Only in German)

The aim of these calls is to promote the exchange of ideas and dialogue on these topics at an interdisciplinary, Franco-German and European level. The funding amounts to between €2,000 and €15,000 for the organisation of the scientific event. Applications must be submitted by two professors from a university or a non-university research institution in Germany or France.

Application deadlines for all programmes:  15.06.2024 and 15.10.2024

DFH applications require the signature of the president. The application must be submitted in full to Kristin Günther at least one week before the application deadline.

DAAD ERA Scholarship Program "Green Hydrogen"

Application deadline: any time

With the new scholarship program "ERA Future Scholarships - Green Hydrogen" of the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the DAAD supports research on green hydrogen. The program enables German students to network with local and international scientists. By establishing four working groups, the DAAD is also promoting networking between science and industry. The program is aimed at Doctoral students who are interested in hydrogen research. As socio-economic, ethical, legal and ecological issues relating to hydrogen are also to be addressed, applications from all scientific disciplines are welcome.

MIN Graduate Center (MINGZ)

The MIN Graduate Centre provides financial support to doctoral students of the MIN faculty for research stays abroad with a relevant connection to the doctoral topic for a maximum duration of two months. Financial support is also available for active participation in conferences abroad.
